How to tell you have been
dosed with GHB:
1. You are drunk after one or two drinks that normally would not have
an effect on you.
2. You become very tired suddenly.
3. You suddenly feel as though you are no longer in control of your body,
rather you are watching your body do things like as if in a movie.
4. Your drink has a salty or burning taste to it that shouldn't be there.
5. You wake up suddenly with no memory of the last 4 - 5 hours.
How to recognize someone on GHB:
1. They are over intoxicated for the amount of alcohol they have consumed.
2. They are extremely violent, or extremely sexual. 3. They vomit but
do not recognize it. 4. They do not pay attention to gender for sexual
attention. 5. They fall in a deep sleep that you cannot bring them out
of. 6. They begin to have seizures. 7. They foam blood after taking a
drink. IMPORTANT: If someone you know shows ANY of the above signs, it
is very important that you seek medical attention right away. People who
fall asleep from GHB usually have slipped into a coma. They will NOT sleep
it off. The only treatment for this situation is life support until the
drug has been passed through the body. If you believe someone has dosed
your drink, seek immediate medical assistance. Make sure to tell them
to screen for GHB. If you "awake" from a GHB sleep, and you have reason
to believe you had sex while under the influence, DO NOT SHOWER, go directly
to an emergency room and tell them you believe you have been dosed with
GHB and engaged in sexual activity. Important facts about GHB: * It is
addictive. * No one knows the correct dose, as it varies from solution
to solution and person to person. * What may have been right one night
for you may not be the next. * It causes euphoria, or aggression. Generally,
if you are a mean drunk, you will be a mean GHB high. If you are a happy
drunk, you will be a happy GHB high. * It causes you to lose all inhibitions.
You may find yourself engaging in sexual activity, such as unsafe sex;
or with a partner you are not interested in. * It can and does kill people.
* You can not just "sleep off" a GHB sleep. A person in a GHB sleep is
in need of immediate medical care. * GHB turns off your gag reflex making
you prone to choking on vomit or gum. * GHB can cause you to vomit excessively.
* GHB causes black outs. * GHB remains in the blood for 4 - 5 hours. It
is detectable in the urine for 6 - 8 hours after that. * GBL is GHB, there
is no difference between these drugs in the terms of what happens to them
once in your body, or what they do to your body.

chance of life.”
2. Ask for a urine test, suggests Porrata.
