It
seems that where sports of most types are concerned we have become
a touchy feely kind of society. Patting a football or basketball player
who just scored bigtime on the butt, flipping each other with towels
in the locker room. All part of the games.
With those who are are not perverted in their sexual behavior and
attitudes this would be a normal event, not given a second thought
afterwards. But to pedophiles and other sexual predators it opens
a door. Putting them one step closer to a physical familiararity with
you than before.
If you notice that anyone is getting to handsy, or looking at your
body in the locker room or shower with a lustfull eye, or that come
on look that we all sense when it it thrown our way, take a mental
note that you do not want to be alone with this person.
Should a coach or another player, or anyone, ever give you the feeling
that they are more interested in you that the point you scored that
won the game, share your feelings with someone you trust. Don't ever
think that keeping quiet is a good thing.
Now, if someone one has already approached you, or attempted to touch
you, or made you feel uneasy in anyway, do not believe them if they
tell you that no one will believe you, because there is always someone
who will.
We will,
the Runaway Hotline will, and so will those people who know and love
you. If they don't call us, or someone on our list of hotlines and
have them call your family or whoever you want. They'll believe one
of us. We'll make them.
